Tropical Depression #3 has formed!
It will not become a named storm until a sustained wind gets to 39 mph (tropical storm). 74 mph wind for CAT 1 hurricane.
There is a high likelihood that Cristobal (krees-TOH-bahl) will be creeping towards the Louisiana or Texas coast by late into the weekend.
Tropical Depression #3 has formed this afternoon in the southern Gulf of Mexico. Gradual strengthening is expected and the depression is forecast to become a tropical storm tonight or Tuesday.
