Arts and Autos Cruise: Denton
The Denton Main Street Association changed up their events this year to host their first-ever Arts & Autos Cruise over four Saturdays in September and October. The final one is Saturday, October 24. Car, truck, and motorcycle enthusiasts are invited to take part in the cruise around the square and surrounding areas of Denton. You must register ahead of time for the event so follow the links below. $25 gets T-shirts and a goody bag for each vehicle.

Billy Bob's Concerts
Concerts are finally back at Billy Bob's in Fort Worth. This weekend there are a full slate of performances. On Thursday and Friday Randy Rogers & Wade Bowen: Hold My Beer and Watch This Tour hits the stage. On Saturday it's Riley Green. Billy Bob's reminds you to arrive early, as COVID-19 protocols mean it will take longer than normal to get into the venue.

Cutting Edge Haunted House
It's opening weekend at Cutting Edge Haunted House. While some haunted houses have chosen not to operate during COVID-19, Cutting Edge is out there doing what they do best...scaring the tar out of people. Cutting Edge has been voted one of the Best Haunted Houses in America and Winner of Guinness World Record for the World's Longest Walk through Horror House. Located in a 100-year-old abandoned meat packing plant in a section of Fort Worth historically dubbed as "Hell's Half Acre," the Cutting Edge Haunted House is built upon a foundation of fear. Dallas Arboretum: Autumn at the Arboretum
Autumn at the Arboretum highlights the nationally-acclaimed Pumpkin Village featuring four 20-foot-tall decorated pumpkin houses and creative displays fashioned from more than 90,000 pumpkins, gourds and squash. With the theme, "The Art of the Pumpkin," the Dallas Arboretum's popular festival features one of "the Best Fall Festivals to Celebrate the Season" by Country Living Magazine. The event opens on September 19 and runs through November 1. Autumn at the Arboretum features breathtaking colors of fall including 150,000 autumn flowers accented by pumpkins, gourds and squash from Floydada, Texas. The Denton Black Chamber of Commerce is hosting their annual Denton Blues Fest October 24. Forest of Fear in Grand Prairie
Guests of Forest of Fear will witness the transformation of Loyd Park's campgrounds into a drive-through Halloween experience like no other - all from the safety of their vehicles! Football (High School and College) at Globe Life Park
Football in a former baseball stadium. It's a 2020 thing. This week, it's a big matchup for the HEB ISD, as Trinity faces arch rival L.D. Bell on Thursday night. Then Saturday, you can catch the first ever college football game at GLP when the Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks take on the Wildcats of Abilene Christian at 12:30. Parking is be available in Toyota Lot D, Avalon Lot E, Sequoia Lot L, Sienna Lot M, and Highlander Lot N. Haunted Tall Tales at Reunion Tower
The spirit of Halloween can be found at Reunion Tower- or at least the spirits that inhabit the haunted places of Dallas can be found there this October. Leave the weary world below to appreciate the view of some of the most haunted places in Dallas from high in the sky on Cloud Nine at Reunion Tower. Be drawn into the space between the worlds with some of the most unforgettable (g)hosts telling some of the tallest tales about the city they once called their home.
According to Director, Rue Neumann, "Halloween is a traditional time to honor the dead, and this year we are bringing some of those dead back to celebrate." This unique theatrical based event merges the haunted history of Dallas with ghost stories as told by the campfire in a Covid compliant environment.

Last Ditch Drive-In Concert Series: Melissa Ratley / Will Johnson and Scott Danborn
The pandemic has been extremely tough on the brewery industry. Armadillo Brewing Company is getting creative with their concert series. They're calling it a last ditch effort to stay in business while waiting to get the go ahead that it's safe to reopen. So these concerts with Melissa Ratley (on Thursday) and Will Johnson and Scott Danborn (Saturday) are being held drive-in style. Load the family into the station wagon and cruise on down to Armadillo Ale Works and Boca 31 – Denton for a socially-distanced concert experience unlike any other. There will be food and drinks for purchase. You'll also need to purchase a spot to park your vehicle. No alcoholic beverages are allowed inside of vehicles. But you can sit in your lawn chair and enjoy yourself.

Look Club at Dallas Heritage Village
Grab a mask, your paints or pencils, and a sketchbook! The Cedars Union, a nonprofit art incubator, is holding its Look Club, a four-part program that invites the public to draw observationally, focusing on a chosen subject each week. The subjects – Still Life, Landscape, Figure Drawing, and Architecture – will be led by a local artist who incorporates those subjects or themes in his or her work. The session begins with an artist talk, followed by two-and-a-half open hours of drawing or painting from life, whether chosen by the participant or constructed by The Cedars Union.

Movie Night on the Strauss Square Lawn
The AT&T Performing Arts Center's Movie Nights are in their outdoor venue Strauss Square with reduced-capacity, socially-distanced seating so everyone can safely stretch out on the lawn and enjoy current and classic films under the stars in the Dallas Arts District. On Friday night there are two spooky movies to choose from. The Addams Family (2019) plays at 7 p.m., it's rated PG. Then IT Chapter One screens at 9:30 p.m. The rated R film is based on the hugely popular Stephen King novel of the same name.

North Texas Fair and Rodeo
The North Texas Fair and Rodeo was pushed back, but it's still happening in Denton! This is the closing weekend. There's plenty of entertainment, including main stage performances by Shane Smith and the Saints on Thursday night, Sawyer Brown on Friday night, and Justin Moore closing out the rodeo on Saturday. There are rodeo events each night at 7:30. And don't forget the carnival, livestock shows, and art displays.

Ozarka Brand Drive-In Film Festival
The event, happening this upcoming weekend (Friday 10/23 and Saturday 10/24), will celebrate the beauty of Texas and offer good old-fashioned fun for the community. In addition to playing a feature film (Friday – Friday Night Lights/Saturday – The Rookie), each night of the festival will kick off with short films created by high school students from the Dallas area. These short films focus on the beauty of Texas as well as the importance of recycling.

Perot Museum: Reopened to the Public
The wildly popular Perot Museum of Nature and Science continues Friday, Saturday, and Sunday hours after reopening last month. There are new public-health protocols, ticketing procedures, reduced hours, and 25% occupancy limits. Because of the strict occupancy limits, guests should purchase their tickets online ahead of time for their timed entry into the Perot.

Six Flags Over Texas: HALLOWFEST
HALLOWFEST is underway, and runs weekends through November 1. Operating hours will be Fridays from 6:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m.; Saturdays from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.; and Sundays from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with limited capacity admission to prevent overcrowding.
