DFW Restaurant Week
It’s your final chance this year to enjoy DFW Restaurant Week 2020, presented by Your Metroplex Cadillac Dealers. There are both dine-in and take-out options. It’s so important that we support the hard-hit restaurant community during this tough time, and this is a terrific way to do it. Get three-course, prix fixe dinners for either $39 or $49, and two-course lunches for just $19. Arts and Autos Cruise: Denton
The Denton Main Street Association changed up their events this year to host their first-ever Arts & Autos Cruise over four Saturdays in September and October. The next one is Saturday, September 26, followed by October 10 and October 24. Car, truck, and motorcycle enthusiasts are invited to take part in the cruise around the square and surrounding areas of Denton. You must register ahead of time for the event so follow the links below. $25 gets T-shirts and a goody bag for each vehicle.

Big Texas Fair Food Drive-Thru
With the State Fair of Texas cancelled this year, officials pivoted to a drive-thru version of the event! Visitors drive through the grounds, decked out in State Fair style, picking up Fair food favorites as they go. When you reach Big Texas circle, you’ll park and exit your car to get a pic with the big man himself...taken by a professional photographer! Then you’ll drive a little more to pick up dessert and some fun on the Midway. Plan on one to one and a half hours to get through the experience.

Billy Bob’s Concerts
Concerts are finally back at Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth. This weekend there are a full slate of performances. On Thursday and Friday nights, Riley Green takes the stage. And on Saturday, Josh Weathers will play. Billy Bob’s reminds you to arrive early, as COVID-19 protocols mean it will take longer than normal to get into the venue.

Boho Market at Klyde Warren Park

Dallas Arboretum: Autumn at the Arboretum
Autumn at the Arboretum highlights the nationally-acclaimed Pumpkin Village featuring four 20-foot-tall decorated pumpkin houses and creative displays fashioned from more than 90,000 pumpkins, gourds and squash. With the theme, “The Art of the Pumpkin,” the Dallas Arboretum’s popular festival features one of “the Best Fall Festivals to Celebrate the Season” by Country Living Magazine. The event opens on September 19 and runs through November 1. Autumn at the Arboretum features breathtaking colors of fall including 150,000 autumn flowers accented by pumpkins, gourds and squash from Floydada, Texas. The festival features the return of the popular Mommy and Me Mondays and Tiny Tot Tuesdays, a hay bale maze, a pumpkin patch with pumpkins for purchase, music and more.

Fort Worth Margarita Festival
Now, this sounds fun. Sample 15 of the Best Margaritas in Fort Worth, and then vote for your favorite. Purchase a ticket, you’ll receive a margarita sampling card and a voting chip. Sample over 15 (1 oz) samples...then drop your voting chip in your favorite margarita’s voting jar. The jar with the most chips gets crowned the best margarita in Fort Worth. High School Football
This week the 5A and 6A schools join the high school football season for the first time. (For the first four weeks only classes 4A and below could play). Make sure to double check those latest schedules before heading out (COVID-19 is crazy that way...always messing with sports)! But the schedule includes some special games at Globe Life Park (the old home of the Texas Rangers) and AT&T Stadium in Arlington. On Thursday it’s a marquee matchup between Arlington Lamar and Euless Trinity at GLP. On Friday, there’s a doubleheader at AT&T Stadium between Denton Ryan and Arlington Martin at 4 p.m., followed by Longview vs. Temple. Then on Saturday, it’s the Battle of the Red Rail between Colleyville Heritage and Grapevine, kicking off at 8 p.m. at GLP.

Last Ditch Drive-In Concert Series: DJ Ursa Minor
The pandemic has been extremely tough on the brewery industry. Armadillo Brewing Company is getting creative with their concert series. They’re calling it a last ditch effort to stay in business while waiting to get the go ahead that it’s safe to reopen. So this concert with DJ Ursa Minor is being held drive-in style. There will be food (from Boca 31) and drinks for purchase. You’ll also need to purchase a spot to park your vehicle. No alcoholic beverages are allowed inside of vehicles. But you can sit in your lawn chair and enjoy yourself.

Legacy West Friday Night Movie: Remember the Titans
On Friday nights in September, Legacy West is hosting “Friday Night Lights Movie Nights.” So, naturally, this Friday’s movie is another football movie: Remember the Titans. You’ll go up to the 6th-floor parking garage, and watch the flick on a 30-ft, outdoor screen. The movie starts around 8:30 p.m.

Levitt Living Room Series: Jaime Lin Wilson
This is pretty cool. The Levitt Living Room Series is a group of concerts at Levitt Pavilion in Arlington. You can participate virtually (by watching on their Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/levittpavilionarlington/), or go in-person for limited seating in socially-distanced squares on the lawn. For a $2 reservation, you can have a maximum of eight people (family members) in your square. Masks are required, except when eating or drinking while in your square. You can bring your own food, beverages, chairs and blankets.

Perot Museum: Reopened to the Public
The wildly popular Perot Museum of Nature and Science finally reopened to the public this month. There are new public-health protocols, ticketing procedures, reduced hours, and 25% occupancy limits. Because of the strict occupancy limits, guests are highly encouraged to purchase their tickets online ahead of time for their timed entry into the Perot.
