Despite not being on television since 2004, ‘Friends’ may be more popular today than ever before. Thanks to streaming, and a recent reunion special, the iconic television series is as relevant in 2022 as it was in the 90s. Now, a DFW bar has decided to take advantage of that popularity announcing a ‘Friends’ pop up taking over later this month.
The Whippersnapper on Henderson Avenue in Dallas has become known for their trendy pop up themes, and their latest may be their most anticipated yet. Starting January 16th, the bar will close for renovations, and reopen January 20th for the debut of the ‘Friends’ themed bar. The bar will feature employees in costume, a photo booth, themed food and drink menus, interactive experiences, nightly entertainment, and relevant artwork from local artist Jonny Freeman, according to Dallas Culture Map.
This is not the first iconic television series the bar has used as a pop up theme, previously changing the bar for ‘Family Guy,’ ‘The Office,’ and ‘Breaking Bad.’ The bar will be open Wednesday-Saturday 6 pm-2 am, so fans will have plenty of opportunity to share in the ‘Friends’ experience. Now customers will just have to wait and see what show is used as a theme next.
