Ennis Bluebonnet Trails Festival

Celebrating 72 Years of Ennis Bluebonnet Trails: Ennis was designated by the 1997 State Legislature as the home of the Official Texas Bluebonnet Trail and was designated the Official Bluebonnet City of Texas. From April 1-30,  Ennis showcases over 40 miles of mapped driving Bluebonnet Trails sponsored by the Ennis Garden Club. The festival on Friday, Saturday and Sunday features arts & crafts vendors, tasty food and kids activities on the streets of Downtown Ennis. There's a Wine Wander you can participate in for an extra charge. More than a dozen musical acts will play over the course of the three day event.

FWSO: Wagner's Walküre and Sibelius' Sixth

Die Walküre is the second of Wagner's four-opera Ring cycle. The first act narrates the tale of a forbidden romance with Wagnerian grandeur and themes that call the cycle's other operas and characters to mind. The Producers

Satchmo at the Waldorf

SATCHMO AT THE WALDORF is a one-man, three-character play in which the same actor portrays Louis Armstrong, the greatest of all jazz trumpeters; Joe Glaser, his white manager; and Miles Davis, who admired Armstrong's playing but disliked his onstage manner. It takes place in 1971 in a dressing room backstage at the Empire Room of New York's Waldorf-Astoria Hotel, where Armstrong performed in public for the last time. just four months before his death.
