A few classic films from the 80s are getting a refresh, and they'll be turned into TV series on Paramount+.
It's working up a new version of Urban Cowboy which originally starred John Travolta and Debra Winger and introduced the world to the honky-tonk Gilley's in Pasadena.
Paramount+ is also developing a TV series based on the film Flashdance. That's the film that made Jennifer Beals a star. She played a welder who always dreamed of becoming a ballerina.
Paramount+ is working on TV shows based on Fatal Attraction, Love Story, and a prequel series to Grease called Rise of the Pink Ladies.
