Alvin Kamara's team-record 6 TDs seal win, NFC South title for Saints

Alvin Kamara rushed for a franchise record six touchdowns and a career-high 155 yards as the Saints earned a 52-33 win against the Minnesota Vikings in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Christmas Day.

The win snapped a two-game skid and secured the Saints' fourth-straight NFC South title.

He got started early as the Saints scored on the game’s opening drive when Kamara bolted for a 40-yard touchdown run to finish a six-play 75-drive.

The Vikings answered on their following drive when Dalvin Cook capped an eight-play, 75-yard drive with a 15-yard touchdown run.

New Orleans retook the lead on its ensuing drive with a 1-yard touchdown run from Kamara.

The Saints stretched that lead to 17-7 early in the second quarter with Wil Lutz connected on a 30-yard field goal.

The Vikings cut into the New Orleans lead when Mike Boone capped an eight-play, 75-yard drive with a 4-yard touchdown run. The score was set up 25-yard reception by former LSU star Justin Jefferson.

The Saints went back up by two scores when Alvin Kamara found the endzone for the third time with 38 seconds to play in the first half. The f5-yard run made it 24-14 and finished a seven-play, 46 yard drive.

Minnesota closed the gap, 24-20 with 9:41 to play in the third quarter when Kirk Cousin connected with former Brother Martin standout Irv Smith Jr. for a 2-yard touchdown. The score was set when Hardy Nickerson intercepted a Drew Brees pass that deflected off Emmanuel Sanders hands.

The pick was Brees’ second interception of the day.

New Orleans responded later in the quarter when Kamara scored his fourth touchdown of the game to make it 31-20.

The VIkings scored once more in the third when Smith hauled in his touchdown pass of the game.

The Saints pulled away in the fourth quarter when Kamara scored his franchise record fifth touchdown of the game a 7-yarder and Taysom Hill scored on a 1-yard run.

The Vikings scored with 2:10 to play in the fourth quarter when Cousins found Adam Thielen with a 1-yard touchdown pass.

Kamara scored his sixth touchdown on the very next drive when he finished the three-play, 48-yard with a 3-yard run.
