Jerry World was awarded the final over MetLife Stadium, the home of the New York Giants and Jets.
While no official announcement has been made, one is coming next month, as the soccer governing body announced Thursday that the entire tournament schedule will be unveiled on Feb. 4.
Lipton also reports that not only will Dallas host the final but they'll be the home base for FIFA throughout the tournament, as the city was chosen over New York and Miami.
Earlier this month, Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones was asked if he had an update on where things stood with the soccer governing body's decision on where the final will be held.
“We’re on that by the minute, if there’s such a thing,” Jones said on the K&C Masterpiece on 105.3 The Fan. “Certainly by the hour, by the day, by the week or by the month. We’re working as hard as we can to give our best presentation of why it ought to be here.”
"This is, as far as the world is concerned, this area that we’re in Dallas, Texas, this is our country, in my mind. This is the vibrant part of the country, this is where young people in this country and progressive people are aspiring to build their lives and careers. So if you want a good shot of what it’s like to have a North American flavor to a sporting event, we’ve got the ideal place in the country right here in Dallas, Texas,” Jones added.
FIFA's leadership toured AT&T Stadium in October as North Texas pushed to secure matches deep in the 2026 World Cup. Dallas was chosen as one of 16 North American cities to host some of the 104 matches that will be played in the United States, Mexico and Canada.
The tournament kicks off in June and the final will take place on July 19, 2026.
We'll soon find out if it will officially be in North Texas.
