DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - It's about as official as it can get, but Jason Kidd will be the next head coach of the Mavericks, while Nico Harrison will be the team's next president of basketball operations and general manager.
Rumblings have already begun on who will join Kidd's coaching staff, including two of his former teammates from the Mavs 2011 championship roster, J.J. Barea and Jason Terry.
105.3 The Fan's Mike Fisher reports that Barea and Terry "are among the interested parties" in joining Kidd on the Mavs bench, and have already visited with the new coach about positions on the staff.
In his time with the Mavs, Barea has built strong relationships with several members of the organization and became a close friend of Luka Doncic during the star's first two seasons in Dallas.

Barea has previously expressed an interest in returning to the organization as a member of the coaching staff when his playing days are over, which appears to be sooner rather than later.
"For sure,'' said Barea, who spent last season playing in Spain. "That's what I want.''
As for the JET, who is currently a member of the Arizona men's basketball program's coaching staff, he spoke about the Mavs coaching vacancy earlier this week.
