DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Following the loss of Chidobe Awuzie earlier in the day, the Dallas Cowboys were able to retain a member of the secondary, when they agreed to terms with cornerback CJ Goodwin on a two-year deal.

Goodwin's agent Drew Rosenhouse announced Goodwin's deal to the media.

The deal, which is worth up to $3.5 million, also comes with a $2 million guarantee for the 31-year-old.

Goodwin spent the last three seasons in Dallas, appearing in 35 games with no starts, and adding 19 tackles over that time.

While Goodwin is listed as a corner, his value truly lies is in the special teams game, where he is one of the premier contributors in the NFC East.

Goodwin is the second special teams ace the Cowboys have secured over the last two days, after agreeing to terms with long snapper Jake McQuaide on Monday.
