Nick Sirianni says he does not expect Jalen Hurts to play on Saturday against the Cowboys, meaning Gardner Minshew will get the start for the Eagles.
"He's the toughest son of a gun I've ever been around," Sirianni told the media of Hurts, who tried his best to play this week.
Speaking on Tuesday's 94WIP Morning Show, Sirianni said Hurts' shoulder sprain is nothing deemed to be long-term.
Sirianni says Minshew is ready to go.
When asked about Minshew, Sirianni said: "If he has to go, we'll have 100-percent confidence in him because he can ball...He's a winner and that's all he knows how to do."
Minshew, 26, has thrown just four balls this season. In 2021, Minshew played in four games going 1-1 in two starts—a Week 13 win over the Jets and a Week 17 loss to the Cowboys.
Minshew will enter 2023 as an unrestricted free-agent, so this start is certainly a bit of a showcase for the 2019 sixth-round pick.
