It's about time.

According to reports on Tuesday night from ESPN NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki is among the finalists that will be elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Class of 2023 this August.

Alongside Nowitzki, fellow international players Paul Gasol and Tony Parker have also been elected to the class, as well as WNBA legend Becky Hammon.

Not to mention, a pair of Nowitzki's biggest throughout his career rivals Dwayne Wade, who he beat for the 2011 NBA title, and San Antonio Spurs head coach, Gregg Popovich.

A formal announcement is expected on Saturday at the Final Four in Houston.

Undoubtedly the greatest Mavericks player of all time, and arguably the best international player in NBA history, Nowitzki's resume speaks for itself, capturing an NBA title, NBA Finals MVP, and NBA MVP awards while garnering 14 all-star selections, four All-NBA First Team, five All-NBA Second Team and three All-NBA Third Team nominations.

He also became a member of the rare 50-40-90 club in 2007 - something only nine other NBA players have accomplished.

The induction ceremony is set for August 12 and tickets will be go on sale on April 1.
