DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - The Dallas Mavericks have an abundance of needs heading into the 2021 free agency period, including the addition of a secondary ball-handler and scorer to pair with Luka Doncic.

Two of the main rumored targets for Dallas to fill those roles, were former Toronto Raptors teammates DeMar DeRozan, and Kyle Lowry -- both of whom are looking for a new home this summer.

Unfortunately for the Mavs, per a report from Dallasbasketball.com's Grant Afseth, it appears that not one, but both of those players will be looking elsewhere once the free agency period opens on Monday afternoon.

Lowry, who was thought to be the Mavs top target ahead of free agency, now seems Miami Bound, where he would potentiall join Jimmy Butler, Bam Adebayo, Victor Oladipo and Tyler Herro on an already talented roster.

DeRozan, however, has also been linked to Miami, where he would not only re-join Lowry, but help to form arguably one of the top rosters in the NBA.

The Mavs on the other hand, have seemingly been sent back to the drawing board with their best prospects, barring a major trade, now likely being a potential re-signing of Tim Hardaway Jr., or an acquisition of aging back up point guard, Goran Dragic.
