DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - After adding to their wing depth with Josh Green in the first round, the Dallas Mavericks added to their guard on Wednesday, taking Stanford guard Tyrell Terry with the 31st overall selection in the 2020 NBA Draft.

Known as a scorer, Terry spent one season at Stanford where he averaged 14.6 points, 3.2 assists, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per game for the Cardinal.

Terry is also considered one of the top three-point shooters in the draft, hitting just over 40-percent from downtown on 152 attempts during his freshman season.

Terry has drawn comparisons to current Maverick Seth Curry, who is also an undersized shooting guard, with the ability to handle and distribute the ball as well.

The Mavs were in search of another guard to add to the stable, with J.J. Barea's future unclear, and Trey Burke also an unrestricted free agent free agent.
