GAME OF THE WEEK:
5AD1 #4 LONGVIEW (5-1, 2-0) at 5AD1 #3 HIGHLAND PARK (4-1, 1-0) - 7:30 p.m. Friday
It's worth the price of admission anytime these two meet. Longview comes into this 7-5A-1 showdown on a five-game win streak. Their only loss came to Denton Ryan in the season opener. Longview's offense is led by five-star WR Jalen Hale, who finds the end zone at least once just about every week. Hale will be a big test for the Highland Park secondary. Longview defeated Wylie East last week, 56-0. Highland Park has won its last four since opening the season with a loss to state-ranked 6A Southlake Carroll. The Scots got two TD runs from RB Christian Reeves in last week's 35-17 over Sherman. Highland Park claimed a hard-fought 20-15 win over Longview last year. Talk about pedigree - Highland Park is the winningest high school football program in Texas history, while Longview is 8th. And one more nugget...head coaches Randy Allen (HP) and John King (Longview) have a combined 612 career wins, with an overall winning percentage of 81.7%.
