ARLINGTON (105.3 The Fan/AP) - The Rangers fell in controversial fashion to the Colorado Rockies 6-4 in their home opener on Monday afternoon at Globe Life Field.
After Texas pinch-hitter Willie Calhoun hit a tying home run with two outs in the ninth, Iglesias put Colorado ahead in the 10th and Connor Joe added a homer off Greg Holland (0-1), the eighth Rangers pitcher.
Mitch Garver walked with one out in the Rangers 10th, then was forced out sliding into the bag as second baseman Brendan Rodgers' relay throw was wide of first — allowing Marcus Semien to score from second and Adolis Garcia to move up a base.
But Rockies manager Bud Black then challenged the play, and after a lengthy review, it was determined that Garver's slide interfered with the fielder. Garcia also was ruled out, ending the game.
Here's the play in question:
After the game, Rangers manager Chris Woodward said they didn't lose because of the over-turned call, but he wasn't pleased with the way the rule was interpreted by MLB's Replay Center.
If you took a glance at social media after the game ended, you'd see that they weren't thrilled with the interpretation either.
@mlb 4 hour home Ranger opener ends on a call made in New York. You give umps a mic but no explanation to fans in attendance. Your product is awful. You are ruining baseball. Coming from a long time season ticket holder and fan of the game.

That call at 2nd base was shit @MLB. I will be looking for every manager in the league calling for that challenge from now on. @Rangers Thanks for wrecking the fan opening day experience on a terrible rule.
