Scottie Scheffler releases statement after arrest at PGA Championship: 'There was a big misunderstanding'

Masters champion and World No. 1 golfer Scottie Scheffler was arrested Friday morning on his way to the PGA Championship after police say he didn't comply with their instructions near the entrance of Valhalla Golf Club, the site of the PGA Championship.

Scheffler was booked, posted bond, and was released around an hour before his scheduled tee time in the second round of the PGA Championship.

The Dallas native released a statement before teeing off.
