Shan & RJ react to report that Mike McCarthy wanted 5-year deal to return to Cowboys

When the Dallas Cowboys and Mike McCarthy went their separate ways, each side pushed out their version of the events that led to the coach's ouster.

Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones said the organization and McCarthy mutually parted ways prior to undergoing contract negotiations. Meanwhile, multiple reporters said McCarthy walked away after the two parties couldn't agree on the length of the contract.

A new report released Thursday by ESPN's Todd Archer corroborates those reports. According to Archer, McCarthy wanted a five-year contract, while Jones stood firm at a three-year deal.

"At an impasse, both sides agreed to move on," Archer wrote.

Was McCarthy in the wrong for asking for a five-year contract? Should Jerry have gone to five years to keep him in Dallas? Shan and RJ reacted to Archer's report on Thursday's show.
