DALLAS (105.3 The Fan) - Two future Hall of Fame cornerbacks could find themselves playing for new teams next season, but should the Cowboys be interested?
Shan and RJ discussed Patrick Peterson and Richard Sherman's potential additions in the video above and in the audio below.
Sherman, who's a free agent this offseason, recently told ESPN's Stephen A. Smith that he wants to play two more seasons.
“I want to get on a competitive team. I think I still have a lot to give to the game. I think I still have a lot that I want to accomplish and I think I can go out there and help a defense come together like it should and reach their potential, reach the heights that the defenses that I've played on have reached."
Sherman played the last three seasons for the 49ers. Prior to that, he spent seven seasons with the Seahawks. With former Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn now running the Cowboys defense, it seems logical to list the Cowboys as a potential destination.
As for Peterson, he said there is no truth to the report that he and the Cardinals are parting ways
"There's no real update and, like you said, it is a dirty rumor," Peterson said Tuesday on the "All Things Covered" podcast. "I woke up to it this morning as well. Me and the team haven't talked anything about contracts and we haven't [spoken about] parting ways. That's just what it is -- a dirty rumor. I don't know where [the reporter] got his insight from, but it was a dirty rumor and you're hearing it here.
