Jon Morosi of MLB Network reported Friday morning that the "chances are increasing that Gibson is dealt" by the deadline. As for the teams who may be involved, Morosi listed the Padres and Red Sox as teams to watch.
Evan Grant of the Dallas Morning News also reported on the chances of a Gibson deal, writing that teams in on Twins starter Jose Berrios will shift to Gibson after he's dealt.
Grant mentions two other teams, the Toronto Blue Jays and the Tampa Bay Rays, as potential landing spots.
As for Kennedy, Grant writes that there is some question in the industry about whether or not the Rangers should move him in a package with another player to get more value in return, or if the Rangers could get enough value out of him in a standalone deal.
Grant adds, however, that he predicts "he will be traded."
As for some other players to keep an eye on as the deadline nears, Grant lists infielders Brock Holt and Charlie Culberson, and relievers Brett Martin and John King.
