The trial of a former Los Angeles Angels employee accused of providing drugs to a pitcher who died in a Southlake hotel room continues Wednesday in Fort Worth.
Angels pitcher Tyler Skaggs was found dead in his Southlake hotel room in 2019 and the team's former communications manager, Eric Kay, is charged with distributing opioids.
Four MLB players testified Tuesday that they had acquired oxycodone from Kay during their careers.
The players called to the stand included first baseman C.J. Cron, now with the Colorado Rockies, and three pitchers, including free agents Matt Harvey and Mike Morin, and Cam Bedrosian of the Philadelphia Phillies.
A medical pathologist also testified that Skaggs had oxycodone in his system from previous use, but the drug that killed him was fentanyl.
