A federal judge in Fort Worth is expected to rule today in a case pitting Fort Worth-based BNSF Railroad against the unions that represent conductors and engineers.
Reports say the union is fighting a new attendance policy they claim will penalize workers for taking time off.
On the other hand, BNSF says they need the policy to make sure they have crews available, and not having it would put the railroad at a disadvantage compared to competitors.
The unions are warning they may go on strike if the new policy is implemented on February 1st as BNSF plans.
