November is National Alzheimer’s Disease Awareness Month and National Caregivers Month.

Experts say it's imperative to recognize the link between the two.  Caregiving has a significant impact on the mental health of the caregiver as well as the economy.

Businesses lose an estimated $34 billion in revenue and productivity due to caregiving responsibilities.

Additionally, the physical and emotional impact on family caregivers is estimated to be $9.7 million in healthcare costs.

To Juliette Fowler Communities, it's an important month, as they help serve both those dealing with Alzheimer’s and Dementia, and their loved ones.

On Thursday, November 18, Fowler hosts its annual luncheon at the Omni Dallas Hotel.

"Our luncheon is based on a celebration of visionary women," says Nicole Gann, president, and CEO of Juliette Fowler Communities. "We recognize, not only our founder, Juliette Fowler, but also validate and recognize the visionary women that continue to impact the Dallas community.

At the luncheon, AWARE (awaredallas.org) will receive the Visionary Women Award for fighting Alzheimer's disease through raising and funding more than $13.5 million in support of programs, projects, and research.

The keynote speaker will be Leeza Gibbons. The Emmy Award-Winning TV/radio personality, New York Times best-selling author, and caregiver advocate communicates passionately from her personal experience of taking care of her mother.
