
New numbers show it's getting a lot harder to afford to afford a new house in North Texas.
How much do you need to make a year to comfortably afford a home mortgage in Dallas? A new report says it's $121,388. That's less than cities like Austin and Los Angeles, but more than other cities including Houston and Chicago.
An analysis by Zillow shows the figure is up by more than $50,000 in just the last 4 years and has nearly doubled since 2018.
A 'typical' home in North Texas now costs almost $367,000.
