The U.S. Small Business Administration is opening two outreach centers in Dallas County today to help people who were affected by flooding in late August. The SBA recently issued a disaster declaration for Dallas and surrounding counties because of the flooding.
People and businesses who suffered damage during the flood are now eligible for low-interest federal loans to help them recover.
"They can apply on line or they can go to our Disaster Loan Outreach Center, which is available on Monday, and get this one-on-one assistance, ask their questions and also apply there," said Barbara Nitis with the SBA.
The disaster loan outreach centers will be at the Samuell-Grand Recreation Center, 6200 East Grand Avenue in Dallas and the Balch Springs Recreation Department, 4372 Shepherd Lane in Balch Springs. They will both be open Monday through Friday, 9:00am through 6:00pm, starting today.
The SBA is also accepting loan applications on its web site disasterloanassistance.sba.gov
