
Another popular streaming service is cracking down on password sharing.
Hoping it will encourage more subscribers Disney Plus and ESPN Plus are letting customers know that starting next month it will start cracking down on people sharing passwords to gain account access.
The company says streaming customers agree not to share their passwords with people outside their household, but we all know a lot of sharing goes on.
Netflix announced a crackdown on password sharing last year, and just last week confirmed it added a record number of news subscribers during the fourth quarter of 2022.
Disney CEO Bob Iger has been hinting at a crackdown since last summer. He's expected to announce details during Disney’s fiscal first-quarter earnings call on February 7th.
