
A study is currently underway into the access to healthy foods in under-served communities here in North Texas.
Texas Health is teaming up with Gallup to do a first-of-its-kind study on nutrition security. The study will take place in Tarrant, Dallas, and Collin counties.
Matt Dufrene is the Vice President of North Texas Healthy Communities with Texas Health Resources and says there's an important difference between food security of having enough food available and nutrition security.
Gallup has already started their process for in-depth interviews and research with community leaders and residents to learn what challenges and resources are present.
The findings are expected to be presented by the end of Summer.
