A new report from Wallethub.com looks at the average credit score in more than 2,000 U.S. cities. The highest-ranked Texas city on the list is Colleyville, at No. 23.
According to the survey, the average credit score of a Colleyville resident is 777. That puts the city in the 99th percentile nationwide.
Others in the top five in Texas include:
(Tied) 185 - Flower Mound with an average credit score of 762
T262 - Coppell (758)
T287 - The Woodlands (757)
T300 - Keller (756)

On the other end of the spectrum, the Houston suburb of Sugar Land ranks third from the bottom nationally, with an average score of 571. Laredo, Killeen, Odessa, Pasadena and Beaumont also bring up the rear among Texas cities.
Wallethub's Jill Gonzalez said a credit score of 700 still ranks as "good," while 750 or above falls into the "excellent" category.
And if you are looking to boost your score, Gonzalez said two big factors are not missing credit payments and not canceling accounts. Even if you don't use a card, it's advised to keep the account so it counts toward your debt-to-credit available ratio.
Gonzalez went in-depth on the credit score report with KRLD's Chris Sommer.
