A driver is now locked up in Collin County after leading police on a long, winding chase last night.
About 11 p.m. police tried to pull an SUV over near Parker Road and McCreary near the Southfork Ranch. But the driver was not going to stop, speeding east on Parker.
Allen police joined in as the chase wound around rural roads for awhile. Near West Campbell and Jupiter Road, police deployed spike strips which flattened at least one tire but the SUV kept going.
Finally, the driver got trapped in a cul-de-sac on Crystal Falls Drive and that's where he bailed out and tried to get away on foot. But he didn't get far and with help from a police dog, officers tracked him down and hauled him to jail on a long list of charges.
