As the latest wave of COVID-19 in North Texas slowly continues to wane, there is reason for optimism in the updated projections from UT-Southwestern Medical Center.
Dallas-Fort Worth Hospital Council President/CEO Stephen Love said experts believe COVID cases and hospitalizations will continue to fall through mid-October. As of Thursday morning, about 2,600 patients were hospitalized with the virus across the region. That figure is down by more than 700 in the past three weeks. At the same time, the number of pediatric COVID patients is down by roughly 40% from early September.
With cooler weather starting to settle in, local experts are concerned the virus could flare up again. Love spoke with KRLD's Chris Sommer.
