A second person in less than a week faces charges in connection to a fentanyl overdose death in Wylie, police say.

Kennedy Kirby, 30, faces a murder charge tied to the overdose death of Jacob Bowers, Wylie police said.

Police said Kirby drove an Uber to deliver fentanyl and that Bowers died shortly after ingesting the dose.

Earlier this week, a Wylie East High School junior was also found dead due to a fentanyl overdose. The person who provided that pill was also arrested and charged.
