The feds have taken the lid off a secret drug trafficking organization that has been operating in North Texas.

The feds called it "Operation Kullvid-20." It's a massive undercover investigation that has netted charges against 40 meth traffickers. On Wednesday alone they arrested 14 suspected traffickers and seized around 40 pounds of meth and around 70 pounds of heroin.

Over the course of the investigation, the Drug Enforcement Administration says it's seized enough fentanyl for 595,000 lethal doses. As much as Becky Vance of drug prevention resources applauds the arrests and confiscations she notes without demand for the drugs there wouldn't be the dealers.

Five suspects are still on the run while court appearances for the 14 arrested this week will begin on Friday.
