A Garland man who was a Dallas ISD high school teacher is now a registered sex offender after admitting to assaulting a teen.
Until last May, 60-year-old Robert Flores was an engineering teacher at Emmett Conrad High School in Dallas. Then police knocked on his door.
Flores had been caught having a sexual relationship with a 16-year old he met online. In a plea deal Flores has admitted to sexual assault of a child a online solicitation of a minor.
Prosecutors dropped a charge of improper relationship between an educator and a student.
Flores will not have to serve any jail time but he will be on probation for the next 8 years.
He has to register as a sex offender and stay away from children, meaning his days as a high school teacher are over.
