Fort Worth fire investigators still don't know what caused Tuesday's fire that gutted an abandoned two-story building on East Belknap just east of the West Fork of the Trinity.
Flames and smoke could be seen for miles on Belknap, I-35 and Highway 121. Commanders knew the old commercial building had been abandoned so they ordered firefighters to work from the outside.
That was a good call because there were several wall and ceiling collapses during the hour or so it took to put out the flames.
No one was hurt but the building is a total loss.
