The company that operates five Alamo Drafthouse Cinemas in North Texas is filing for Chapter 7 bankruptcy. As a result, all five of those theaters are closing effective immediately.
The five North Texas locations are operated under a franchise agreement by a company called “Two is One, One is None, LLC.” They operate theaters in Richardson, Las Colinas, Denton, and the Lake Highlands and Cedars neighborhoods in Dallas. They also operate an Alamo Drafthouse in Woodbury, Minnesota, which is closing as well.
Other Alamo Drafthouse locations across Texas are not affected by the Chapter 7 filing of the franchisee. A statement from the Alamo Drafthouse corporate office indicates the company will try to get the Dallas-area theaters reopened as quickly as possible.
