Flight attendants on American Airlines flights to and from international destinations and Hawaii will ask passengers if they have any leftover international currency or spare change they would like to donate.

The money raised this month through the "Change for Good" program will support UNICEF's efforts to provide basic needs in Ukraine - including water, sanitation and health care. Some kids or families in need will also receive emergency cash assistance. The program will also support efforts to position health care supplies in neighboring counties.

"It is deeply troubling to see the humanitarian crisis unfolding as a result of the conflict in Ukraine," said Brady Byrnes, Vice President of Flight Service for American.

The program is also accepting donations on UNICEF's website.
