Texas DPS officials are giving more information about the American Airlines flight that was delayed in El Paso Friday.
Reports say an unidentified teenager sent a text containing the word "bomb" and that was enough to set off a chain of events.
American flight 2051 was already on the runway, ready for take-off when the offending text was intercepted. The message on an Apple device, sent by AirDrop, said "I have a bomb would like to share a photo."
That was enough to have the plane diverted off to an isolated area of the airport. The passengers and luggage were off-loaded onto the tarmac where everything and everyone was rescreened. That all took hours and the flight finally departed for Chicago about five hours late.
The teenager was detained and questioned. The El Paso district attorney has agreed to prosecute the teen suspect.
