A woman's social media post about being seated between two obese people on a flight to DFW are now receiving a response from American Airlines.

Sydney Watson's tweets about sitting between two overweight people have been exploding on the Internet for the past week.

Watson has released a copy of correspondence from American Airlines saying the company regrets "the enjoyment and comfort of your flight was diminished due to another customer exceeding their seat's space." As a result, Watson was offered a $150 trip credit.

This all started last week when Watson took an American flight from New York to DFW Airport. While still airborne, she tweeted "I am -- literally -- WEDGED between two OBESE people on my flight. This is absolutely NOT acceptable or okay. If fat people want to be fat, fine. But it is something else entirely when I'm stuck between you, with your arm rolls on my body, for 3 hours."

Thousands of people have responded, many agreeing with Watson's views. But just as many have blasted her for what many call "fat shaming."

Watson has also released a video on her YouTube channel explaining her position on the matter.
