WEST SENECA, N.Y. (WBEN) - "Things changed overnight," said Gina Lattuca. "Shelters were named "essential businesses" in an executive order from Governor Andrew Cuomo.
Because the SPCA Serving Erie County does not have any dogs right now, Lattuca featured "Oliver", an 8 year old cat in the usual Friday segment on WBEN. His adoption fee, as well as the adoption fee for all animals at the shelter are currently waived.
"Oliver would be a perfect companion for someone who is staying home, or in quarantine. You can check the SPCA's current adoptable animals HERE.
"Now that we're considered an essential business, we might be able to stay open and offer limited adoptions. We're trying to navigate our way through that right now."
The SPCA has an assortment of cats, rabbits and turtles.
The SPCA Serving Erie County is located at 300 Harlem Rd. in West Seneca, N.Y. 716-875-7360.
