Monday, 79,000 meals were distributed to those in need after last weeks arctic blast.
A line of cars stretched for more than two miles around Minnie’s Food Pantry in Plano waiting for meal boxes and cases of water. The line started forming at 5 in the morning.
Each vehicle received care packages that included three to five meals, as well as 60 pounds of canned goods and a case of bottled water.
Many of the people who showed up, had never been to a food pantry before.
A lot are on fixed incomes, others are still unemployed because of last years shutdown.
