An Arlington family is very grateful to firefighters who were able to rescue a family pet during a house fire.

Fire crews from Arlington and Pantego worked together on a blaze at a two-story home on Claireisa Court near California Lane. There was substantial damage to the home but no people were injured.

Firefighters saved the family's dog which was treated with oxygen. Most fire crews these days carry specially-made oxygen masks that fit over the mouths of dogs and cats.

In a social media post, a family member writes to firefighters "Thank you for rescuing Bella. My family is eternally grateful to you all."

Sadly, four other pets did not make it out.
