The largest cities in North Texas all forbid the personal use of fireworks, and the City of Arlington has launched a web site where people can report fireworks being used illegally over the Fourth of July. People caught using fireworks in Arlington can face a fine of up to $2,000.
"We're here to help you and your family have a safe holiday in the American Dream City," Arlington Firefighter Manny Corrillo said in a video posted on YouTube.
Arlington residents who spot illegal fireworks can call a non-emergency number at (817) 274-4444.
"We want to make it easier to provide information about fireworks activity while keeping phone lines open for emergencies," Corrillo says.
This year, the City of Arlington has also launched a website where people can report fireworks at arlingtontx.gov/reportfireworks .
"Let us know what you are seeing or hearing in your neighborhood during the holiday weekend," Corrillo says. "Hit 'Submit,' and we'll investigate."
The City of Arlington will host a fireworks display Saturday, July 3 at Globe Life Field. The display starts at 9:30 p.m.
Parking lots in the Entertainment District will open at 8 p.m., and parking will be free in lots outside Globe Life Field, AT&T Stadium and ESports Stadium.
Arlington will host a parade downtown Monday, July 5. The parade begins at 9 a.m. This year's theme is "Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness." Details and the route for the parade are available at arlington4th.org .
