Game One of the World Series is just hours away -- and tens of thousands of fans are converging on Arlington to be part of the excitement.
To keep everyone safe, Arlington police have multiple plans in place. Whether it's traffic control, conflicts among fans or even the chance of real trouble no one else wants to even think about -- Arlington PD has been thinking about this a lot.
Arlington PD's Tim Ciesco was on the KRLD Morning News with Heather Behrens and Jon Liddle today, saying "...we've been working on figuring out our staffing, where we needed to have people, traffic control plans -- we've been doing that for months. So we feel very prepared for the crowds tonight. This is nothing new for us. We've hosted World Series here in the past. We've hosted other major national and international sporting events. So this is just another notch in the belt, really. But we are so excited the World Series is back in Arlington after twelve years."
Ciesco also says you can expect to see a larger police presence both inside and outside Globe Life Field. As at all ball games, there will also be tight stadium security at the gates.
Police are working side-by-side with Globe Life Field security people to keep an eye on the 40-thousand plus who'll be enjoying tonight's game
