There's another new variant of the Coronavirus that started circulating in Texas. Scientists at A&M identified it as the BV.1, because it started in the Brazos Valley. That first case turned up in a student at A&M about six week ago. Experts say it could be a longer lasting variant of coronavirus.
On Monday's Ask the Expert, Dr. Ben Neuman, head of the biology department from Texas A&M Texarkana joined KRLD's Kristin Diaz and David Rancken. He says there are actually multiple strains of this variant. He went on to explain the star system his department has created to identify how this virus has mutated.
