Atmos Energy Corporation wants to raise rates in Dallas, but the city council could say no again.

The council has denied Atmos' rate hike requests every year since 2019. Now Atmos wants the city to raise the rate by about $14 a month for residential customers and more than $52 a month for commercial customers.

This recent filing was made under the Dallas Annual Rate Review (DARR) Tariff and is the company’s sixth filing under the current DARR mechanism.

The company insists it needs a rate hike because of higher gas costs.

The Dallas City Council isn't expected to consider the rate hike request until May.
