A baby girl and her young mother are doing well this morning after a couple of women in Plano stepped in to help a struggling family.
It happened Wednesday afternoon when a young man came into a Plano business on North Central Expressway asking for help. He said his girlfriend in the car had just given birth and they didn't know what to do. But Angela Owens, a mother herself, she knew.
She tells NBC 5 she told the young couple to take the baby girl to a safe haven location like a hospital or fire department. But she could see they were in shock and completely overwhelmed so she told the couple to leave the baby with her and she would make sure the child was safe. And that's exactly what she did.
Owens called police and the baby girl was taken to the hospital and she's in good condition. The baby's mom was also located. She's recovering today in good condition after receiving medical care.
No charges are expected to be filed.
