A Balch Springs man will spend the rest of his life behind bars after a jury convicted him of killing a Mesquite cop.
Jamie Jaramillo was found guilty of capital murder and sentenced to life in prison with no parole on Wednesday.
Jaramillo killed Mesquite police officer Richard Houston last December as Houston responded to a report to a domestic disturbance in a grocery store parking lot.
Dallas County DA John Creuzot said the conviction shows the community backs the blue.
The defense did not call any witnesses.
