A Benbrook doctor and his wife who lost their home in a fire four years ago now have a new home.
Their new digs, however, are not nearly as luxurious.
Last year, Mark Kuper, 43, pleaded guilty to defrauding Medicare, Medicaid and TRICARE by billing them for services that were never rendered.
The Justice Department says back in 2017, as their scheme was unraveling, Kuper's wife, Melissa, tried destroying evidence by burning it in an outdoor fireplace.
The evidence somehow survived, but the couple's $1.6 million mansion burned to the ground.
The Kupers have a new home now -- federal prison.
Judge Reed O'Connor sentenced Mark Kuper to ten years in prison.
Wife Melissa was previously sentenced to a year and a half.
A physical therapist also involved in the scheme, Travis Couey, was sentenced to three years in federal prison.
