Thousands of runners will fill the streets of downtown Dallas this weekend for the 52nd BMW Dallas Marathon Festival. Events associated with the race begin on Friday.
There will be a health and fitness expo at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center. Runners will be able to pick up their race packets and visit booths set up by exhibitors. That will be followed by a race around Dallas City Hall Plaza Friday night. This is the first year for the Friday Night Lights Mile.
On Saturday, there will be a series of 5-K and 10-K races, plus a children's race.
The marathon will be Sunday morning in downtown Dallas. Several streets will be closed for the race route. The City of Dallas has posted a list of all the streets that will be affected on its website.
