A second child is now dead after an ATV accident in Waxahachie earlier this week.

DPS officials say on Sunday an ATV with four teens was going northbound on Greathouse Rd. shortly after 7:00 p.m.

They say the ATV was being operated by a 14-year-old who did not have a valid drivers license and that he ran a stop sign where they collided with a Ford Ranger pickup truck.

Officials say Wyatt Randle, 12, of Waxahachie, died at Cook Children's Medical Center in Fort Worth. A 14-year-old was also taken to Cook Childrens in Fort Worth, but died Wednesday.

All of the ATV riders were under the age of 16.

The couple inside the Ford Ranger, Eugene and Barbara Moore of Red Oak, both 70, were treated at Baylor, Scott and White Hospital in Waxahachie and released.

"Unfortunately, we're seeing this a lot across Texas, these all-terrain vehicles being operated on (public) roadways," says Sgt. Lockridge, "and unfortunately they become involved in fatality crashes."

The investigation is ongoing.

"To my knowledge at this moment, there will not be any charges (against the 14-year-old unlicensed driver)," Lockridge says. "As far as traffic citations, that may be in the future."
